Burger King, as one of the world’s fast food leaders is not only known for its burgers, but also for its Kids Meal kits, which have cool toys.
Why did Burger King give up on plastic toys?
Like other large fast food chains, Burger King traditionally included plastic toys as part of its children’s kits. These toys were often associated with popular cartoon characters such as Pokemon, Star wars and others.
However, in recent years, environmental issues, including the use of single-use plastic products, have become a hot topic in the UK. In 2019, it was decided to abandon plastic in favour of recyclable and biodegradable materials. Children can now get toys made from cardboard, paper or other materials that are less harmful to the environment.
Instead of the usual plastic figurines, children’s kits now include educational games, puzzles, colouring books and even small board games. These toys not only bring joy to children, but also develop their imagination, motor skills and logical thinking.
Burger King has also started to offer toys online. Using mobile apps and QR codes, children can activate online games or augmented reality, which is a new way to interact with the brand.
